appearance
A large bulky dark grey and white tom with stormy green eyes and large black paws.
One does well not to cross a hungry predator and one would learn well not to cross the stormy eyed tom. Let's get to the basics of his physical appearance. Built to tower over most cats, Stormeyes is a monster of a cat, built more for fighting then fishing and swimming. In fact he has been known to use his brutal strength to capture prey - which can end in messy results. Stormeyes however is known for his monstrous body and even larger paws. But that is the biggest part of his body, while Stormeyes has an normal sized tail to follow his large body, however it is thin and it grows brushier which is the only long-haired part of his body. The rest of his body is coated with short hair. Now onto his pelt. Like mentioned above, it is mostly short - covering his whole body up until his tail which has longer fur. However the tips of his ears have turfs of fur which is a brilliant shade of black. However his pelt is mostly a mixture between dark grey and black with many white patches. His face is covered by at least two-thirds of dark stormy grey fur - hence the prefix of his name - Storm. However while his stormy-fur colour covers most of his upper face and the lower jaw of his muzzle, his face has white coating the bridge of the nose and the upper jaw area. He also has one ear that is white. His tail has a upper grey-black colour while the under base is white. His underbelly and chest is also white with a few speckles of white coating his stormy-grey back. His paws are black, just black and the black reached up most of his front leg, while the other for legs only have black mittens. A small note on his vocal ways. Stormeyes at his appearance would be thought to have a scary tone, but when he speaks it's quite the deep smooth tone, like river flowly freely, nothing to hitch it. It's like silk in a way. But when angered his voice hits a lower colder level and he appears deathly dark and deadly. However when expressing pain his voice will hitch slightly, very slightly. Lastly his eyes. From afar you can tell that they are large and always watching - like an owl's eyes. However one would not honestly expect many to understand how he got the eyes suffix, unless you've watched him in the heat of battle. It is only in this time that his emotions storm his usually cold green eyes and it's then that many will see what he holds back. Like a storm he is always calm before it blows up and when it does, his eyes reflex everything he feels inside - to Stormeyes; his eyes are truly the entrance to his soul.
personality
One should not judge a book by it's cover. Or by the first impressions, because sometimes it's just a front that keeps people from seeing the true beautiful story behind it's contents. Maybe the message is written deep within the book that one will simply skim it and ignore it so the book can go on with it's normal life in peace. Welcome to the world of Stormeyes.
The first thing you should know about Stormeyes is that he in fact, lives up to his name. His eyes are either cold and merciless or they are stormed with emotions that are locked behind his careless cold eyes. So the outer layer of our subject is quite simple to deduce. He's a reserved and quiet tom to those he does not consider friends (which is everyone) and he is blunt, rude and fierce when it comes to everyone. His rude comments on how elder's should help the clan until they are physically unable to is a main front he uses as he truly does not believe this. Always quick to leap into battle is a forced personality trait that he forced upon his being at a young age. He only lets one trait that he has always truly had to the surface, but he twists it in such a way that it gets him places, but not anywhere fast. He uses charm against the she-cats and when they fall for it, he smirks and breaks their hearts - even if it breaks his. But below all that, below the hateful spiteful tom who wants nothing to do with anything is something unforgettable. Meet Galeclan's hopeless romantic, hopeless dreamer of having kits and charmer of the year. He can not help it if he is a softy behind all the hate. He is just to much of a coward to express himself truly - because it is a weakness to him. It is a weakness that can come and haunt him in the future. You see, while many expect the rough tom to bark at kits that actually bump into him - he expresses little, but a soft - very small smile and and nudge back to wards their mother. He being the monstrous cat that he is makes the perfect play ground for kits and when it is late at night or early in the morning and not many are about, he will play with the kits. Even when the camp becomes under attack he'll stay close to the nursery and protect it while still appearing distant. He's only ever expressed loved for one cat, and she turned him down flat out. He however, had tried everything to make her love him. Went for walks, shared fresh-kill and even opened up to her and allowed her to use him as a shoulder to lean on. Moons of this and she rejected him for a more 'badass' deep down made his cold outer shield grow. Which is why in the aspects of love life he has failed. He can never truly understand it, but the rejection pained him more then anything and he is has not gotten over it - and it happened twenty moons ago. Stormeyes will always remember, he may forgive inwardly, but on the outside he will always never forgive.
Will you discover the real Stormeyes or will you skip the middle of the book and find the wrong answers in the back of the book?
history
Many would think the tom was born in the dead of the night, in a blizzard during Leaf-bare. But oddly enough this tom was born midday on the hottest Green-leaf day that summer. Many love to express differently, but truly this tom makes them think differently. Let us begin with a bit of the back story. You see Stormeyes here has a mother and a father and two litter mates and one niece who is the daughter of his brother Darknose. What are there names you might ask? Why Stormeyes mother is titled Crowfang - for both her crow black fur and her sharp attacks. Wavechest was named for his silvery-white fur much like a white cap in the water. Stormeyes brothers, also in his litter are christen Darknose and Bristletail - both named for their pelts and well in Darknose's case, his nose. Stormeyes niece who is known as Whitepaw - whom Stormeyes is very close to. Now on to the beginning.
The hottest day of Green-leaf that moon was upon the clan of Gale. The sun beating down and the scorching heat terrible for the in labour she-cat. It took her to near sundown, but her first kit - a monstrous kit she christen Stormkit, followed by two much smaller and petite kittens known as Darkkit and Bristlekit. The three kits were not close, they in fact where very much indifferent to each other. Bristlekit was the runt and very clearly the loveable tom who all the other she-kits trotted over too - not because he enjoyed their attention, but because he loved to gossip with them - even the female apprentices took a liking to him because of his open opinion on how good looking another tom was. Then came Darkkit - all the tom cats loved to play with him, making him the head of a small little kitten gang that bullied other kittens - including Bristlekit and his band of merry she-kits. But the least favourite of the kits was Stormkit, being the biggest, it was only by his third moon that he matched the size of a eight moon old apprentice, and he was bullied because of it - or he was until he snapped at his brothers and their friends.
It was when he was four moons old that one little she-cat, she was roughly a moon or so younger then him, padded over and befriended him. Her name was Ivykit. The two become instantly close and Stormkit's growing barrier to keep others out grew as he put little Ivykit at the centre of his world. It was like Stormkit was all by himself following around the petite female and when Stormkit became an apprentice a moon before she would the two stayed in touch. Stormpaw would tell Ivykit all about the stories of his first moon as apprentice, from training to showing her the moves to even helping her adjust it so it would be perfect. The elders Stormpaw visit thought it was amusing watching such a large monstrous cat helping such a petite feminine feline do battle movements.
When it came time for Ivykit to become Ivypaw the two apprentices spent more time around each other, their mentors being mates and such. It was an enjoyment and Stormpaw and Ivypaw were at their happiest. But that was when the teasing started. Not even a moon into their training together did the old kit squad of bullies start to tease Ivypaw. She would be alone when they attacked, telling her she loved a monster, making fun of her for simply being Stormpaw's friend. But the worst of it all was Darkpaw was hitting on Ivypaw. Stormpaw never knew of course, he only got hints that they were picking on Ivypaw and with out her consent, he couldn't do anything. So Stormpaw did what he thought was best and confronted his youngest brother Bristlepaw.
Of course Bristlepaw caved instantly when Stormpaw threaten to tell the eldest apprentice at the time Deerpaw that Bristlepaw had - maybe - the slightest crush on him. So when Bristlepaw caved and explained everything, Stormpaw felt hatred boil in his blood. It would be a moon longer before he caught his brother in the act of both teasing and hitting on Ivypaw - and Ivypaw not really caring anymore. While feeling both relieved and happy that she just shoved Darkpaw off, what got to Stormpaw the most was how she never brushed him off rudely when he came on to her. This furthered Stormpaw's anger and he kept closer to Ivypaw, leaving her side for only certain things.
When the three brothers and some of their apprentice friends finally earned their warrior names, it was hell fire. Darkpaw became Darknose and he lifted that nose into the air with pride. Bristlepaw became Bristletail and he waved that tail proudly as he bounced lightly to wards his 'lover' Deerstep. When it came time for Stormpaw to earn his name, his eyes lifted to the leader who was pondering name and their eyes connected, it was in that split moment that the leader shouted out the first thing that came to mind and Stormpaw was christened Stormeyes, for the way his eyes storm after the calm. When the three brothers sat together that night back to back to back, it was an eerie deadly silence and Stormeyes felt his hatred for his brother boiling more.
Their moon as a warrior without Ivypaw was torturous for Stormeyes. While he went on patrols with his former mentor and Ivypaw and her mentor, the two cats seemed worlds apart. But once Ivypaw became Ivypatch, the two instantly clicked again and slept next to each other in the warrior's den - much to Darknose's annoyance. It was in that moon of the two best friends being together that Stormeyes felt he needed to express himself, and yet he knew he couldn't just yet. So he held off until he was seventeen moons old, and that was when he struck. He broke down after nearly losing Ivypatch to a battle and asked her to be his mate, that he loved her and wanted to be with her forever and more. But Ivypatch had other plans.
She rejected his offer, and he could hear that she was upset, she told him he should of told her sooner, because she had loved up all through their kithood, their apprenticeship, but someone else had taken her heart now. When they split off after that, Stormeyes held her far from him, closing off and he watched the pain and hurt fill her as she went for comfort in his brother. That hurt him more, and his coldness edged closer, covering his broken heart while it tried to repair itself. No longer was he was cat Ivypatch knew, he disliked her, he hated her, but more importantly, he felt all those emotions for her because he stilled loved her and could not bare to lose her to his brother Darknose.
And that was the first time he ever heard his brother apologise. Darknose felt bad, but when Stormeyes lashed out at his brother physically - a monstrous beast of a cat lashing out at a much smaller built cat was a bad mix up and Ivypatch stepped in, cursing Stormeyes to the end of existence. That was the last time Ivypatched talked to him. The two drifted apart quicker then the seas parted for anyone. Moons would go by with Stormeyes trying to say sorry, but only getting Darknose's own apologise because Ivypatch wanted nothing to do with him. It was one faithful night though in their twenty-seventh moon, that he spoke to Ivypatch, she lay dying with a single kit nestled into the crook of her belly. She whispered she forgave him for all the pain he caused her, for all the pain she may of caused him and with her last dying breath she looked down at her kit and up at her mate and Stormeyes whispering a soft 'i love you.'.
That was the moon that Darknose mourned with his brother Stormeyes, the moon that the two brothers who fought and bruised each other got lost in their pain together for they had loved the same she-cat. Bristletail and Deerstep offered the mother of Deerstep (and Bristletail by being a step-father)'s kits. Little Whitekit was raised with her cousins Puddlekit and Riverkit. Stormeyes was determined to watch all three kits and Whitekit the most. Darknose was slowly being driven insane by the look of his daughter and how closely she looked like her mother - minus the black patches her mother had. The pale blue eyes Whitekit had drove both Darknose and Stormeyes into sorrow fits for they were copies of Ivypatch's eyes.
As the kit aged she grew up with a very sad, but protective daddy, a very stubborn, cold, harsh and yet over-protective uncle and a free-loving, crazy, homosexual uncle who's mate was just as protective over her then his own children Puddlekit and Riverkit. Together the small small family of seven, three young female kits turned apprentices and four older father and father-like figures grew together and formed a close bond.
