personality
there's a phrase known as "all bark and no bite" that often applies to the stereotypical fiesty cat. however, it's far from the mark as far as scarletpaw's standards go, for she's got plenty of both bark and bite, and she uses both often. frankly, she's a very fierce she-cat. many words could be listed to wrap one's mind around the idea of just how fierce, but in all honesty, the word "fierce" itself seems to be the main attribute that scarletpaw embodies, therefore other words to say just how occasionally rude and cruel she can be need not be displayed. the simple fact of the matter is that she's a mean, cold-blooded female who fights for what she wants.

in conversation, she's a generally, well, pissy girl. she's got a real knack for bitching about anything she can get her claws on, and is often a regular gossip when with those she feels comfortable gossiping around. still, she's a sharp lass, with a real strong point for observation and common sense. this makes it easy for her in battle to assess the situation and give way to a logical solution, so long as she's got her priorities straight (something she does indeed struggle with most often).

in regards to her clan, scarletpaw is ferociously loyal to her leader's wishes and what she feels is best for her clan, therefore is always in the front of the battlefield, or first awake at dawn to catch the most prey throughout the day. anything to help, scarletpaw will jump at the chance. while still a young cat, this trait, at least, has earned her some respect from others, or at least appreciation. scarletpaw is incredibly determined and even headstrong during training, as she is working to become the best. anything short of perfect is something she'll end up criticizing herself about for weeks, or at least until she's earned enough praise about it to feel a bit better-- a perfectionist in the least. her ambitions tie into this particular trait, as she feels that if she dies before becoming galeclan's greatest leader all of her efforts will have been wasted. 'tis the nature of the poor she-cat.

history
her mother was a troublesome, leggy black lady called lucky who didn't usually roam clan lands, until she caught the eye of a rather rough-and-tumble big somali fellow by the name of jaggedrust, endearingly called rags by most. they hit it off right away-- he was entranced by her stunning good looks and cool, cruel personality while she stuck around for the sake of curing her insatiable boredom. not that he wasn't enjoyable to be around. however, their "friendship" was generally forbidden but, instead of banning it, bloodstar encouraged lucky to join the clan. she did, choosing to change her name to luckwound, and bloodstar was overcome with jealousy of her relationship with rags, becoming even moreso after luckwound was found to be pregnant with the warrior's kits or, as later found out, kit. rags went missing not long after luckwound began showing and, while bloodstar soon thereafter took her as his mate, the fact remained that the single scarlet kit she birthed belonged to none other than jaggedrust.
luckwound named her only child scarletkit, and at scarletkit's fifth mood, became pregnant again, this time with bloodstar's children. unfortunately, the pregnancy came with many complications, and in the end resulted in four dead cats- including the beautiful luckwound. scarletkit, though, by this time had become scarletpaw, and bloodstar was then dead due to one of the various scuffles he had sparked, but scarletpaw cared little for her stepfather's death, though she mourned the passing of her mother very much.
still, she was moving forward in life, and accepted death as merely a stage of life, and pushed on despite the absence of all three of her "parents". since her naming as an apprentice, scarletpaw had dedicated herself soley to her duties, keeping any prospect of a social life at bay while focusing on pleasing her elders and keeping her mentor's praise coming.
